Jonathan Bland has worked as Chief executive of the UK Social Enterprise Coalition and previously at Social Enterprise London. In this role he has led the social enterprise movement’s engagement with the UK government working with a number of different government departments on all the major UK social enterprise policies from 1999 to 2009. This included the development of the social enterprise strategy and action plan and the development of the £100m Social Enterprise Investment Fund and policy for spinout out primary health care services from the `NHS under the Right to Request Programme.
He has extensive experience of social enterprises operating in urban and rural contexts in the UK and of the range of different solutions they bring. He has also worked with the Spanish co-operative movement and more recently with the Finnish Government.
