Fiona Garin

She is currently the Director for Market Development for Healthcare Worker Safety in Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD) in Europe, leading and ensuring proper anticipation and preparation for European Union wide legislation implementation across stakeholders and countries. She is also the regional marketing leader for a company-wide customer centricity project. Prior to that she has held several positions within BD, being the Strategic Marketing Director for BD Medical Surgical Systems and BD’s director for influenza preparedness in Europe for over 4 years. Additionally Fiona was BD´s worldwide director for strategic marketing in the immunization business for 7 years, responsible for directing overall strategic and marketing efforts to meet developing country safe immunization needs. BD is a leading global medical technology company that develops, manufactures and sells medical devices, instrument systems and reagents. They are focused on improving drug delivery, enhancing the quality and speed of diagnosing infectious diseases and cancers, and advancing research, discovery and production of new drugs and vaccines

Prior to joining BD, Fiona was a Health Specialist in the World Bank, managing Health Reform Projects under preparation and implementation in Central America, and a consultant for several years in Price Waterhouse´s Strategic Consulting Group.

Fiona has a Master of Science in International Relations from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service, and a Graduate Certificate in International Health and Development from George Washington University, both in Washington, DC, USA. Her undergraduate degree was in European Business Studies and she has a BA (Hons) from Humberside University in the UK, and the “Centro Europeo de Gestión de Empresas” in Spain.  Additionally, Fiona has completed Executive Education in Strategy and Marketing in the Kellogg School of Management in Northwestern University and Harvard University in the USA.
