Motivation, a Key Element of Success for Social Entrepreneurship

Over the past weeks I have been hearing in my classes, about the weight that social entrepreneurs have in the world today, and its great impact today on society. For this reason I decided to write a few lines to describe one of the most important elements of this new way of doing business.

The true social entrepreneurs do not seek that the results are related to profits, this new way of doing business is focused on outcomes and impacts focus on the society. For those who are linked to these initiatives, Motivation is fundamental element, in my opinion is crucial because today we need more efforts and actions, which aim to strengthen the society and make globally this new way of doing business.

When we speak of motivation related to social entrepreneurs, we talk about the ability of the leaders of these initiatives in order to promote these ideas from two different perspectives, which is related to the Ideological and the one linked to the Human.

Before describing these two ideas, I want to remark, that in my opinion the ideal concept of motivation, from the point of view of social entrepreneurs is:

The potential that a person has to have a positive effect on others, based on an idea, to promote spreading a lead, where the goal is, to achieve all the resources and power needed, to develop the cause

The first idea is that every entrepreneur has a purpose, a reason that moves them, or an idea to develop and implement to achieve a personal goal, this is an unconditional principle of entrepreneurship. Is the direction in which we want to promote the ideas.

Social entrepreneurs are now a global trend, and the reasons for this are so diverse, but the important thing is that now a lot of expectations are linked to this new trend. For years entrepreneurs were seen as those that could start a business and make it a major undertaking, magnitudes and especially excellent economic performance.  But now entrepreneurs also have a new side, The social. The development of better conditions for society, where the ideology plays a key role in these times is the objective of this new way of doing business. This is why initiatives must be linked to an idea, to create them, promote them and turn them into tangible realities

Once these ideas are created by its developers, a second phase is vital to guarantee their survival. How much can we promote the idea among groups that take an interest in these initiatives?  This is where the entrepreneur must also prove itself, because it’s time to create and promote the tribe (followers), and once the tribe is made the most important step of all, motivate them to always follow them.

What does this mean?

The meaning is that motivation plays a critical role in the formation of teams of high performance, one in which they can achieve the goals. However, the idea that comes with greater force at the time of this writing is that without motivation nothing is possible, and I think that this is not a reflection only mine; probably you have it as well.

I dare say that if we want to consolidate this global trend and make it a global reality, we must ensure that our ideas will be related to ideals, so as recognize and motivate the people who help us develop our initiatives, because without them (Ideas and People) nothing will be possible, and our chances of failure increase significantly.

The collective efforts make the difference, and for this, motivation will always be a key element of success for Social Entrepreneurship.

Sustainable Urban Planing, When a change is needed: Caracas

This post will be in the context of the learning’s related to the sessions of Sustainability Urban Planning who i had on recent weeks.  The idea of this post will aimed to develop three major sustainable problems of my hometown and how improve the situation.

As some of you may know, Caracas is the capital of Venezuela, and is a city that as the years have passed has become in the backbone of the Venezuelan economy, as well as the main window of opportunities for Venezuelan citizens, also for the called Caraqueños (adjective used for those born in Caracas). Broadly speaking, it is important to note that in the last 20 years the city has received several impacts, that zhave deteriorated considerably quality of life in the city. I will describe three ideas to describe it along.

Population Growth and their effects

Caracas has 6.3 million of inhabitants in the big area of the city, and shares in common with many Latin American cities: densely populated and with limited space being surrounded by mountains. Because of this, the city has grown vertically. One aspect that i want to remark stands out is the number of people living in slum erected on the hillsides surrounding the city. These buildings are known as “Ranchos” (Aprox. 3,5 million of people lives under these conditions only in Caracas) built on the fly, without any formal planning, with deficiencies and inappropriate materials.

Additionally, Caracas is surrounded by other small towns where people live and commutes to the city, this effect has very important consequences, which are related to increase of  levels of traffic congestion, increase the of CO2 emissions from vehicles use to transportation coupled to traffic already generated within the city by its own inhabitants. Other aspect will be the deficit in the transportation system (Our rush hours can be the whole day). Based on this, the first conclusion i had, is that even taking into account the large investments on infrastructure made in recent years on subways, metrocables, transportation initiatives and massive sales of motorcycles, the measures taken does not meet the real needs of the city.

Tap Water?

Another aspect to consider is related to drinking water used by city inhabitants. Nowadays, a huge amount of inhabitants of Caracas do not have access to potable water service in their homes, and the tap water does not have the proper health conditions to be drinkable by people, due to high risk that could lead to ingestion.

This situation has two very powerful consequences, the first is the high consumption of bottled water (for those who has the economic feasibility to buy it), and the effect of increasing the levels of rubbish in Caracas (Waste Management Issues). Additionally of the increase in the amount of diseases as a result of unsafe drinking water by inhabitants, all this issues might  lead the population to a increase of mortality rates.

But the main concern for the city is the lack of policies and actions related to make sure that consumption of tap water becomes a reality.

Security Problems and their effects

The security problems that currently owns Caracas are well-known for their inhabitants, however many people does not know the size of the problem and its effect over the  life of its inhabitants. The 5,687 violent deaths recorded in the year 2012 (national record) positioned Caracas as the fifth city in the world with highest homicide rate in the world, , this situation leave us a grim picture if we consider the following statistics:

Weekly 113 homicides occur, Every day 16 homicides occur, Every 90 minutes a homicide.

All this happens in Caracas, however this is not a timely phenomenon, because in the last year the total number of homicides in Venezuela reach 22,000 in 2012. In conclusion we could say that the security issue could be likened to a warfare, one that even taking into account their nature do not generate the number of deaths that the situation mentioned above.

The reasons for this situation are diverse, lack of education, social inequality, 15 million of illegal guns on streets, and sustained growth of organized gangs, drive us to do not have a vision of what to do to remediate the situation.

Change is needed and demanded

For all the above is important to note that Caracas needs change, certainly a radical change, one that can help improve the current traffic problems and their environmental effects, others related to the equality of all citizens, bringing a inequalities reduction among them, and allows them to have decent housing with health conditions that let access to potable water, waste dumps. And finally Caracas needs to put a stop to the violence that reigns in the city.

Cities of Tomorrow?  We have a bigger problem to solve…

After the end of the sessions Sustainability Urban Planning, I was reviewing a document that was develop by the European Union as a policy, for city development purposes Cities Of Tomorrow where you can enjoy a variety of items to European reality are quite achievable, however for the specific case to which I refer in this post (Caracas) seem pretty distant. The reason that leads me to this reflection has to do with the structure, and their tangible and intangible elements.

European cities have chord structure levels in most cases with the populations they have, as well as also with policies and programs that are carried out under strict control to ensure compliance with the goals, in the case Caracas it is not, and apparently will not be so until such time that the city planification is not this linked to a personal, political or individual goal or interest.

Real change demands much more than economic resources (tangible), real change demands commitment of everyone playing this game, and here we have to play all (intangible), the one who puts the economic resources, those who carry out the improvements, those who use and overall improvements that now are not aware that there is a game in which everyone can contribute to improve, and this last element is very important because it is a matter of all, the power to improve our city.

Engaging and Commitment

One of the most important actions to be performed for the process of transformation of a city, is to organize the transformation as a major project, in this case, we first must identify the problematic that we want to eradicate, understand its origins and analyze their impacts.(In this post I have clearly identified three ideas that could be the beginning of a transformation)

However, once this is done, it is essential to identify those involved in this game: the players, the supporting actors, supporting cast, extras, where will execute the actions, which  resources do we have, who will be the producers, who will lead the actions, and for those who are not in the first picture they will be integrated in the following phases according with the guidelines established. These project might be call “An Stakeholder Engagement for Caracas”, and would be the first step of many more, as long as these actions are binding on all that are within the initiative.

If we can achieve this and have the support and respect of all Civil Society, Venezuelan Private Sector and Venezuelan Government, we can make this movie becomes to a reality, actually. And if we achieve this we would be in the presence of a story that we will change all of us, forever.

A story to tell to our sons, and grandchildren.

Values, the Triple Bottom Line in the SME’s and Corporate sector

In the next post I will do a reflection that is related to our classes of CSR in the SME’s, specifically on the importance of values in business, in companies and SME’s, and how they can be decisive in the development of this important sector and the importance of business include the concept of the triple bottom line (People, Planet and Profit) in its internal policies and business differentiator.

When we observe the behavior of companies in the last 30 years, we can see how each of them has made significant effort to generate economic wealth through their operations. Also, through the development of a corporate culture, this is done through a series of internal principles that define who we are and how we behave every day. These principles are called values, which are increasingly more important and can be a powerful differentiator that can positively affect or negative development of a business to a critical point in society.

In addition to the idea mentioned above, we should add that companies internally and externally looks to show each of these values, as elements eligible for members of the company to generate more value as well as enhance their brand within their consumer markets.  Also,  convert these efforts in trust and credibility for the company. Two intangibles those are significantly important to ensure business sustainability.

As an example of this idea you can see my previous post related to Enron and Arthur Andersen, companies who disappear of the face of the earth because the consequences of their internal practices.

At the end of the day the reason for these events has a strong connection with a massive loss of trust and credibility, if a company betrays their corporate values.

First conclusion: Winning levels of trust and credibility have a huge cost and they have an ephemeral character.

The Breaking Point

However, things are changing and changing for the better, some years ago, companies were focus on the concept of value generation considering one perspective, the economic, the results and the profit at the end of the period.

This is scheme is completely outdated, no longer fits the realities of the new world order, this is why companies have realized that they must addressed two sectors that had been neglected and now have incalculable importance, these are the environmental (planet) and social (people), and this is where the concept of the triple bottom line fits in companies, and gives the opportunity to prove that the concept of sustainability is not a utopia or an impossible. At the beginning was a market trend but not anymore. Now is a reality impossible to put aside.

Second Conclusion: the model is here to stay, is a global change

The Challenge

The importance of values lies in the ability of the individual to engage to them, live them, and believe in them, as a transformer of societies. When we extrapolate this to the company has a potentially bulking effect because it can raise awareness of the importance of these entities for integral development, or the famous “triple bottom line” that to this day is essential in order to face what is to come.

That is why we need more companies to adapt their current models to these needs; we need more examples like The Body Shop, in seventies and eighties, Interface in the nineties or Vancity in the last decade, as well as all that recent years have joined this intelligent and sustainable way of doing business, these companies started as SME’s and the become a success because their innovative models, so we have to ensure that this model can be adapted to all types of companies.

Third conclusion: I believe in this model, You believe? If you believe it, now it is the time to start making the difference.

Thanks for reading, see you soon.

Smart Cities in the EU, Setis and CO2 abatement

The following post is a new topic that I will include into my master blog; is a sustainable idea that is having a strong impact in the European Society of this century as well as into the European Union. In the next lines I will try to explain the Smart Cities importance for the new society and their role in the European Union.

The city will be, without doubt, the dominant habitat type along the XXI century. More 50% of the world’s population already lives in cities, what has become the major consumer of resources and accelerating climate change. Thus, the model of development of cities should be complemented with some changes in the coming decades. This is extremely important if we what to reduce the environmental impact and climate they generate, their ecological footprint.

The key issues in the field of urban sustainability are aiming to answer fundamental questions such as how they can reduce the ecological footprint of cities, how to curb the growing social segregation within them or how to make cities places of social cohesion and equal opportunities for all its inhabitants.

But in addition to its negative externalities, cities are spaces focus on knowledge, innovation and capacity for action, since house the centers of political, economic, civil and thinking, and decision-making. It is for these reasons that cities are required and the potential generate the necessary paradigm shift. The objective is to start functioning efficiently.

According with the idea the European Commission, they create SETIS the “Strategic Energy Technologies System”. The objective of this tool is very ambitious and is as it follows:

Demonstrate the feasibility of rapidly progressing towards our energy and climate objectives at a local level while proving to citizens that their quality of life and local economies can be improved through investments in energy efficiency and reduction of carbon emissions.

From the city, the mitigation and adaptation to climate change should encourage energy saving, sustainable transport models and less consumerist lifestyles, must focus on eliminating fossil fuels in homes and workplaces, should promote an energy mix with a high share of renewable energy and should promote an urban planning and architecture that incorporates criteria that reduce energy demand for housing and to promote the recycling of materials and prudent use of resources.

The initiative of creating SETIS is based on the interest of the European Union that is within the current EU policies and national programs such as CIVITAS, CONCERTO and Intelligent Energy Europe.

The main driver of SETIS, are linked to:

  • To trigger a sufficient take-up (reaching 5% of the EU population) of energy efficient and low carbon technologies to unlock the market.
  • To reduce by 20% the greenhouse gas (reference year 1990) emissions by 2020, that will demonstrate not only environmental and energy security benefits but also to provide socio-economic advantages in terms of quality of life, local employment and businesses, and citizen empowerment.
  • To effectively spread across Europe best practices of sustainable energy concepts at local level, for instance through the Covenant of Majors.

The smart cities development is supported by the European Commission, because they have many impacts of environmental and social, in addition it also has an impact on the fight against the cuts in carbon emissions by cleaner energy, be more efficient. Looking in terms of electrical use for, homes, offices, buildings, among others.

Cities are the major centers of consumption and waste generation.  Reducing the ecological footprint of cities goes to get a urban metabolism more efficient, to close cycles of products and extend its useful life to fully optimize their use. This implies generalization of a more responsible to reduce waste. The reuse and recycling of soil, water and materials must become a basic principle city in creating and maintaining it.

Take into actions this ideas is important to controlling and managing efficiently the new dynamics. We need to develop smart cities, incorporating the full potential provided by new technologies to improve performance and quality of life they bring to the citizens who live there.

Struggling with Undernourishment & Food Security

Continue developing my blog. I have a new post to share; it is an issue of rural development.

In the recent times many countries are being making progress in the fight against undernourishment all over the world.  We realize that according to some data published by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), about 900 million, 14% of the world population stills having problems linked to malnutrition, and difficulties to have proper access to food markets.  The reasons of this situation is link to problems to meet a right level of food security.

Meanwhile the situation hits different regions of the world; the actions performed to battle this situation are link to some of the millennium developed goals announced some years ago, with the goal to promote the actions against these problems.

So, the main question that we have now is. ¿Does the efforts will allow cut the amount of people who are not able to reach the of food security?

The answer of this is quite complex because we have to take into account other factors who plays a strong role in this fight.  Poverty, Inequality and Food System are other facts that make us think that the situation is pretty complicated.

So, while I was thinking to write a post on this topic, I ask myself.  What are the key actions that we should adopt to improve the situation.  So I start to do some research to understand what will the path for the next years and after reading many articles. I found an idea that in my point of view will be significantly important, if we want to enhance the food security level around the world.

First of all, if we understand that the food security and nutrition is a basic human need, we should put this in the centerpiece of the post-development agenda.  Right now The Post 2015 Framework should include the objective of the Food Security and Nutrition for everyone, considering the four pillars that make sure availability, access, use and supply stability food.

Food systems are an essential element to understand the concept of sustainability. We have to think about that we cannot surrender to the current situation.  Therefore, it is necessary an innovative approach, that guarantee and promote in a consistent and complementary way to take aboard all actions in all sectors.  The struggle focused on other topics to as extreme inequality in different regions but the important thing is to make solid actions.

If we look to the potential benefits to do so, we will find that wealth, property and natural resources can be better distributed between and within countries, with special attention to the rights and needs of most marginalized groups.

What we need to do all this? In my point of view, we should guarantee that these topics must be in the center of the Millennium Development Goals and post-2015 Development Agenda, with the idea of motivate political action need to make sure the right to food to everyone and the inequities of the global food system.

Once, we can reach a global commitment on this matter we have to think about the structure that supports all this, the food markets and the structural problems of the global food as post-harvest losses due to waste, which now account a strong margin of global food production.

Finally, I would like to point out that markets and the international food trade have a special role on to help on this matter.

The moment to enhance the regulations has come, the increase in speculation and financing of markets agricultural has to be controlled, if we want to make real improvements.

Negligence Risk Management… ENRON & Arthur Andersen

When we talk about the importance of Risk Management, one of the most famous cases in history in the sector of accounting and auditing, that must not ignore, is what happened with the well-known Enron Corporation and the prestigious Firm Arthur Andersen LLP, and their tragic ends in 2002. What I describe below is not the failure of a project, is the collapse of two companies that made a negligent risk management process, which transformed against them, creating a situation never seen before in the industry.

For this we have to take a trip back in time to the beginning of this century, mention the actors present in this story, and remember what were the factors that have led so precipitous drop, professionals of this segment will never forget the business, which in turn led to a risk management framework much more rigorous.

The Protagonists

Arthur Andersen – The Firm

The firm Arthur Andersen was one of the five largest firms that provide accounting services, audit and tax issues on the early years of this century, they had operations around the world, and was headquartered in Chicago, USA.  In the opinion who write this post who had experience in the aforementioned sector, this company from outside enjoys a fantastic prestige among its stakeholders. The Firm’s philosophy is based on high standards of Quality and Risk Management where every step is done with strong care and also attached to a scheme of work used globally, this basically means that all actions are performed had a previous scheme for execution.

ENRON Corporation – The Company

The fastest growing energy company in the 90s in the United States, a fantastic example of fast-growing in the US, the key to its exponential growth process is the birth of the company, a merge of Houston Natural Gas and InterNorth in 1985, both companies were located in Houston Texas. The operations of the company were significant and with high levels of profitability, enabling it to quickly enter a golden circle among the largest U.S. energy companies, so they decide to enter the world of the stock market which eventually their shares reaches record figures of US. $90.56, if we take into account the companies for that specific time, but what would follow would be one of the biggest collapses of American Energy Company to remember the date.

How did we get here?

For those not familiar with the world of large audit and accounting firms, it is essential to understand the functioning of these entities, I would initially indicate that the information described below is based on previous experiences I have had as a professional in this business sector, also some of these details may not be accurate considering the limitations of time where we were and the time in which these events occurred.

Arthur Andersen was a professional services company where basically the primary service is provides assistance to companies in the audit development processes as independent reviewers, in order to express an opinion on the financial statements of the company. This can be seen like a rigorous examination, of the accounts of Financial Statements of the organization and its subsidiaries in accordance with accounting regulations present to date, specifically those known U.S. GAAP – United States – General Accepted Accounting Principles, these standards form the backbone of management risk of companies engaged in this business.

The revisions of the financial statements of Enron at the beginning of the business relationship does not show anything wrong, in fact, its shows that the company obtained significant gains year after year without irregularities, they were a rocket at that time, and this was transformed into a steady improvement in the price of the shares in the US Stock Exchange.  The result was that within no more than 10 years the company had grown around the world, the results were so strong that every day more people invest money in the shares of the company; of course they had the support of prestigious firm, a perfect business marriage.

During 2001, the price of Enron shares began to decline significantly, for instance at the end loss its entire value, which in turn began to hear rumors of the legality of the financial statements of the company.  Meanwhile the Security Exchange Commission (SEC) regulator of U.S. public companies began to establish a special interest in this company, and through rigorous reviews, found widespread irregularities in the financial statements of the company, these had “not been seen” by the Firm, however after a while they saw how some of the top partners of the defunct Firm breached their own review protocol of the financial statements, also violated its internal ethics codes, the key element of the risk management of these businesses.

The Consequences

Once the fraud was found it, the irreversible consequences hits both entities with strong force, ENRON had to adhere to Chapter 7 of the law of the U.S. Federal Reserve, that means the company declare into Bankruptcy, and seeks the protection of the American Government. They shows fake numbers of its operations in the financial statements, taking advantage of their results in their times more buoyant, achieving high profits of the investment products that were sell to American citizens through the sale of shares.

Arthur Andersen immediately had a devastating effect.  Without precedent they loss the prestige achieved it by 90 years of operations around the world. In fact some of the most important partners of the firm were prosecuted and sentenced to prison for committing a federal crime (complicity scam). The company was forced to close its doors and thousands of people lost their jobs, some in other countries to date was unknown dimension of the events unfolding in the United States.

The Takeaways

Both companies plummeted, affecting thousands of American investors and employees, why? The answer is in the corporate risk management, they just forgot it!

The desire to grow by ENRON and become a world class company, lead them to take actions that were clearly against their principles as a company.

For the case of Arthur Andersen things became much worse, they underestimate the violation of the rules they did,  the regulatory processes, and all this years of hard work were send it to hell. The loss all their prestige gained by all those many years of work.

This story is a world reference when we talk about risk management, some of you will know it, for others it will be a new story, In my opinion is worth telling when we talk about Risk Management.

ENRM: The key factor in climate change: CO2 emissions

According to the WWF Living Planet Report 2012 CO2 emissions related to the use of fossil fuels has reached its highest level ever.

In recent years, we have been listening with great concern a wide range of efforts, being made around the world on the fight against climate change impacts; a phenomenon that already shows its effect on the planet earth. That is why the big debate right now is ¿how we can stop climate change effects?

According to the Living Planet Report 2012 prepared by WWF, one chapter take into account one subject that is extremely uncertain, ¿what does the future hold? This chapter deals with various theories about the effects of climate change may affect the planet and, the current weather conditions, events related to the potential increase in global temperatures, rising oceans by the melting glaciers areas and long droughts are events that we will face and deal with in the coming years.

The chapter also explores a topic that is perceived as the most critical element for the successful management of climate change, and is related to C02 emissions derived from fossil fuels (oil and coal), they have achieved its highest level in recent years, and there is still great uncertainty about how to handle the dilemma between energy generation against the emission of CO2 from fossil fuels, this is certainly one of the most traditional ways in the history of mankind as a source of energy for life, because it is brutally complex, that we could maintain the level of energy consumption if we could not have these resources, since the perspective of the writer here could be the key to climate change.

Under current conditions, looks to the deterioration of weather conditions could be managed in the years to come, this based on what they tell us the history tellers and the speakers; however you do not believe it is necessary to have alternatives from now? We have been talking the last 20 years on these issues, but still do not have conclusive answers to these situations.  It is essential to note that the time spent is not recovered, and to understand that the management of CO2 emissions is a key factor in climate change management.

DP: Global Population Growth, an issue of humanity?

Continuing the blog, and taking into account the last thought in my earlier post, related to development perspectives, I will focus this post to give an opinion on the Global Population Growth and its implications for the humanity development.

This is an issue that must be taken into account in the international agendas, as in an economic and social development regards, without leaving aside the impact they can have on the planet’s climatic conditions.

The reasons are quite obvious, which is that today we are more than 7 billion people in the world, and if we look at the past we realize that twelve years ago there were 6 billion, and looking further back we can show that in 1975 the world population was 4 billion, so first conclusion we can say that in the last 38 years we have grown to 3 billion people, about an average of 80 million a year, just to say that each year we have a new German state in the world, if every year since 1975.

We can clearly show that the growth trend it is unstoppable, so the reality is that over the next 30 years we will be talking a lot about this topic, and that data is devastating, if we note that forecast says that in 2027 we will clinch 8 billion, and if no major changes we will reach 9 billion in 2045. So this is tremendous! And if we take into account that not all who are coming into this world will be able to have their access to basic needs, to have equal rights, in fact many of them will born in areas where conditions for their arrival has not been evaluated, so the path that still ahead looks quite challenging.

If we look in detail global growth, shows that the highest rates of growth, linked to countries “Undeveloped“, “Unequal” or “Highly Polluters”, and this is a cause to keep in mind for the future. The reason is attached to all the prospective efforts we should make to prevent a future collapse, once we received the new generations.

To described the above idea, cases such as Mali, Republic of Congo, Uganda, Afghanistan, among others, where there are growth rates of 3% per year (growth rate average – 1.8%), also in addition to the fact of a large deficit of inequality.  Meanwhile there are countries with high development of economic growth based of industry activities like China and India are highly polluters and have a strong participation in the climate change impact.

So this can be translated in that we will grow much in coming years, but we will not make properly, if we do not change the current conditions of many of these countries with whom we are indebted, the first major hurdle will prepare for this great challenge that is before us.

How we should prepare?, what has to be done, where to start?, This is the point where we could start a book, or an organization, or even your own personal effort to massif this message, to set up groups or tribes to work on this, also to alert people, that this is a problem of everyone, not just those in the most precarious or even those who are not aware, so if we do act all individually, the efforts will have not the desired impact.

From my perception there that have two extremely clear lines of development, in order to be ready for the increase of the Global Growth Population for the coming years, these ideas are described below:

Eradication of Poverty: It is important to ensure that developed countries, can engage in international efforts to provide assistance to the most needy of economic tools, that can help the internal development of their countries, but the international aid model must evolve and give empowerment to the countries make their own efforts introducing high ethics components.

Reduce Pollution (Climate Change): In order to make sure that population growth will be received properly, we must take special consideration to our home, we need to continue sustaining our natural resources everyday, water, soil, air and other elements must be use wisely, in addition to all the activities that generate pollutants such as air emissions, waste treatment. All these issues related to climate change should have a major role in the agendas of the countries.

Nowadays, we can see that there are already several organizations from government, non-government and private, making efforts focused directly on the two ideas above indicated, however this efforts have to be aimed to a right path, and additionally meet all transparency and ethical factors that must own to reach the desired goal.

The challenges ahead cannot be different, are not negotiable, and this is basically because the overall population growth is an issue fraught with external factors that are not controllable, and that is why we cannot wait for the situation we come up to act, we need to think preventively and avoid being reactive, because the reality is that global population growth is an issue for humanity.

Soon, a new post.
