Luca Palma: Introduce himself and does a balance sheet of first days @ EOI school.

Hello everybody,

This is Luca Palma, Italian, 31 yo. First chapter of my EOI “diary”.

I just want to introduce myself to all the people who are going to read this virtual space, and try to share my first feelings in this new exciting experience.

First of all, I wish to explain -briefly- my background: I’ve studied at University of Bologna (Ita) “human cultures and rights”, and after that I’ve decided to enjoy a working experience as Marketing manager in a little company. I love creative works, but fastly I’ve understood that it wasn’t at all! Thus I’ve started to enjoy some extra-working activities as volunteer, and I’ve became the president of a little no-profit organization that promoted some social & cultural events. It was a great experience for me because in one hand I’ve understood how to work with other persons and in the other one how to manage different issues (as human resources and economic management). In the end, our activities was most oriented to enviroment and ecology field, and from that, I’ve started to think about my ideal work…I felt unsatisfied by my work and I wanted to find my own way, even far from my country, but I’ve said to myself…you should change something in your life and you need to do now.

That’s it…and that’s why now I’m in EOI.

I feel very lucky to be here, as my story explain, I come here not just like a student that wants to attend a master after the university and he spins the globe to see where he could go to do it…I feel this opportunity as the opportunity of my life, because I think the work in our society is very (too much) important, and if I’ll gain the opportunity to work in the field that I’m fond too…this will be a dream!

This is even a challenge with myself, to understand how strong I am, how far I can go, and how much I can give to the others; now I feel full of energy, I’ve just came at the school 3 days and I wish to “eat” everyday like it’s been the first one! I would to exchange my lack of english knowledge with my fondness in enviromental topics…I don’t want just to “show” myself to the teachers, or focus their attention on me…I feel that the teachers here could be not just people who teach something and nothing more, I feel that they would to share something with us…and I hope that my younger classmates could understand this difference, and this master could become a great opportunity to learn many new things, to gain many new skills and to share our passions and in the end…to spread this knowledge to as much places as possible, to have a better future, all together.
