Prototyping @ EOI

Hola everyone!

If last week you tripped over some strange stuff on your quick way for a cheap coffee to the library,  don’t blame it on a sudden Diogenes syndrom by EOI, don’t blame it on the boogie, “blame” it on… the amazing and shocking Innovation classes!! Here we come with the last (but not least) phase of our Design Thinking experience: prototyping.

What is a prototype? If you google it, our video-console world may give you a wrong idea… Our personal “innovation dictionary” would state: the ending process of project development, where all our mindsets, mindmaps, ideas design criteria … have led us to. It’s the phase where our ideas become real, “touchable” and concrete for the first time!

So, on our last Innovation session, and following the example of the shopping cart by IDEO we saw in the first one, we put our shoulders to the whell and that’s what we came up with (enjoy the scoop ot the making-off pics!):

As we disclosed in previous posts, our proposal for the improvement of the sustainability of EOI staff and students was the following: the EOI ecoGreen bus. With our own hands, we tried to give expression, in some cartons and materials provided, to the latest-fashion fully-equipped bus with charges, WiFi, coffee & tea, fast & cheap, comfortable, fun and clean! Hope we managed to do it!

We created 2 different drafts: a small-scale one and the large-scale. Take a look at one of them!:

Finally, let me share with you a couple of comments, guys:

1. The whole process of design thinking and product development does not finish here: it’s our duty to interact with the user and ask him/her for feedback to continuosly redevelop our product. This is iterative, remember!!
2. I encourage you to try to implement the Design Thinking methodology to your our business and projects! Take the risk of giving it a go and you’ll see the results!
