Management Skills Course. Day one
Post from the teacher.
Hey, that was great. Really fantastic to meet you all. I think we’re going to have a great time in these classes.
We really packed a lot of information into the first day however, I hope, it was clear that the main idea that we want to deal with is that of simplicity of transmitting our message. We don’t need to do anything amazing, we just need to make sure we convince, persuade the audience through clear solid arguments. I just wanted to point out the most important messages from today. They are:
- Our GENERAL OBJECTIVE is to convince and persuade, to modify the behavior, decision making and actions of the audience from the moment they step out of our presentation.
- What is your SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE for each particular presentation?
- Who is your AUDIENCE? What are their needs and expectations? What do you need to consider to best be able to meet your and their objectives.
- What are our WIIFYs? What benefits do we have for our audience? Remember BENEFITS not features. Features are important, but what the features MEAN to the audience are much more important and compelling as a resource for persuasion.
- A good STRUCTURE is good for you (the presenter) and the audience.
Thanks again for a great morning.
I will be in touch, but until then here are a couple of links to some presentations. Think about the KEY PRINCIPLES from today:
Remember “Emulate excellent speakers”. What do they do that is good? What can you take from them?
Take care all.
