Sightseeing in France
Hello everybody!
In few days, I will have been in France for two months. I am living in Tilloloy, a very small village closed to Roye. This village is located in the northeast of France and is known because it lived many chapters of the World War I and II. Thus, there are quite cities and village with a lot of history.
Working, each day I am learning more things about the coextrusion process and everything related on it. But in this post, I don’t want to talk about my work. Here I am not only working. I have a bit of free time too and I am taking advantage for it. In the weekends I have time for lots of things and I am spending that time for doing one of my hobbies, travelling. At the moment, I have only visited places of France.
I have been in Compiègne, the first city which I have visited. It is a small city, located in the joint of the Oise and the Aisne rivers, full of historical and great gothic buildings that, personally, I believe it was the most beautiful place I have gone at the moment, after Paris of course. Near to Compiègne, in Pierrefonds, I could find an old castle. There, I met a Spanish family and I did all the visit with them. They were so kind and took me some pictures.
I have also visited Amiens. Amiens is bigger than Compiègne. I could see the tallest gothic cathedral of France among other things. I must say it is one the most impressive cathedral I have ever seen. The Notre-Dame Cathedral of Amiens is over 40 metres tall and is called the colourful cathedral because in the past, all the building was painted, even the figures and the smallest details. Nowadays, the weather has removed its colour but daily at 10 p.m., a spectacle of lights start and the cathedral is illuminated how it was in the past. It is a very nice spectacle that I recommend you if you have the chance of coming closed to Picardi.
I have been in Paris too. It was a raining day although I was looking forward to visiting the city. In fact, I did a two days route in just one and all of that on foot. I parked in the Invalides. Then, I crossed the Alexandre III Bridge where I could see The Petit and Grand Palais. Afterwards, I walked on Champs Elysées street towards the Arc du Triomphe. I got on to the top and I was taking some pictures because the Arc offers an incredible landscape of Paris.
Then, I came back by Champs Elysées street to The Madeleine church. I visited the Pántheon, Notre Dame Cathedral, The Opéra de Paris and The Moulin Rouge. Finally, I finished my visit in Montmartre neighbourhood where I could sit on a Sacré Coeur bench looking at the city.
I already knew Paris but everyone know it is one the nicest cities of the world and I will never tire of visiting it. In fact, in October I will come back because a very good friend come from Bristol to Paris and I have to show him the city, of course.
How I told you, Roye is situated in the northeast of France so this can allow me to travel to many different cities of Europe and I have plans for doing it. In the next days, I would like to visit Brussels and Luxembourg. The trip takes me 2 or 3 hours by car, so it’s not too far away. Before of coming back to Spain, my brother is going to visit to me and I will go to Amsterdam. So, I think now start the best part of my stay.
P.S.: I have forgotten say you that a journalist of a local newspaper interviewed me. I write you the link.
I will tell you more soon! Bye!
