On the Hockey Stick controversy
As we recently saw in class (even if it was just a small exercise on internet searching), the controversy surrounding mainly the Hockey Stick theory on global warming has had a big hit on the credibility of climate change activists and organizations throughout the world. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) may or may not have altered or misinterpreted certain information but it´s not rational for the entire argument to be affected by this.
We as humans have had a definite influence in our planet that can be seen in hand with our society´s move into the industrialized era. With so many resources put into debates and investigations, we could only wish that a consensus can appear that would allow for a true focus on partnerships and solutions that might give way to a true sustainable development.
Just a reminder on how our world has been slowly but steadily changing…
