DP: An approach to some campaigns
During the last three weeks, I shared some thoughts and conclusions made up after my personal experience and my development perspectives class. In the prior posts we analyzed how concepts such as climate change, sustainable development and how supposedly people acknowledge them. We also remarked the importance of society to be coherent with what they say and what they do in terms of preserving environment and claiming for a sustainable development.
We analyzed as well, some examples that showed us how our society has a lack of information in the whole meaning of sustainable development. I feel they think about this term, just as a stop of pollution and preserving our nature. This is very good, however is just a part of it. What about the inequality and the huge growing gap among developed and developing countries and the recent issues like land grabbing and food insecurity?
Now, I will like to share three examples that show how identifying the people’s needs, understanding their culture, building capacities for them will make the initiative achieved better results. I invite you to take a look to the following links, which show a real example of what I am trying to share in these blogs entries
– The first case study is AVERT, which is an international HIV and AIDS charity, working to avert HIV and AIDS worldwide, through education, treatment and care.

Finally I will just like to share one last thought about the videos you just see above. Those three cases are an example that speaks for it self. I am not saying they are perfect annd without mistakes. However the fact that I was able to share this iniciatives with you means that they are aware of saring their experience. I don’t think they do it for gaining image or fans, but they do it for sharing experience in order to other inciatives to improve and follow their actions and ideas.
