Portland experience II
At last we are in Spain! After two weeks in USA learning about sustainability and a very long trip across the United States, we arrived in Madrid the last Sunday!.
Golden Gate, San Francisco, California.
Over the weekend, some students went to visit San Francisco. I have never been here before, and I was pleasently surprised with their steep streets, tall skyscrapers, the Alcatraz island, the famous Golden Gate and the beautiful Sausalito neighborhood. I recommend visiting this city at least one time in your lifetime.
In the second week of this Study trip, we visited Nike and some employees told us about their policies in Social Corporative Responsibility and Sustainability.
Another company that we visited was Kettle foods. They are developping different activities related to sustainability and environmental management, like using Biodiesel, Solar or Wind energies, and implementing enviromental certifications in their bulidings like the LEED Gold certification, being the first manufacture company having this recognition.
Partido NBA. Portland Trail Blazers vs Dallas Mavericks
On Tuesday we went to an NBA basketball game at the Rose Garden basketball court, in Portland. We saw the Portland Trail Blazers vs Dallas Mavericks match and all the show that american basketball is.
At the end of the game we met Rudy Fernandez, spanish basket player in the Portland Trail Blazers and the Spanish Team. He talked with us and signed autographs. Also, he sent a shout out to all EOI students!.
